Now that Buffy’s little sister Michelle Trachtenberg is making a come back on Gossip Girl, I wondered what happened to Buffy herself, scream queen Sarah Michelle? Apart from marrying Freddie Prinze jr. she hasn’t been making waves much the last few years. 

Al that may be about to change as she’s starring in the Paulo Coelho adaptation Veronika decides to die. In the film, a young woman finds herself waking up after a failed suicide attempt. When she learns that she has only a few days to live, she gains a new lust for life.

It’s a bit of a leap for SMG, up to now the Buffy star has mostly kicked serious (vampire)ass, so a ’serious’ film is a change of pace. SMG will also be starring in the new HBO series The Wonderful Maladys.

Terminator: Salvation

May is creeping closer and closer and we all know what happens in May, apart from birds nesting etc., the Future Starts! With the start of a whole new Terminator trilogy! Starring Christian Bale, the flic is set in the none too distant, but eerily post apocalyptic future. The only thing standing between mandkind and total annihilation by big scary robots is, once again, poor John Connor.

I must say that, when I watch Terminator:SCC I often get the same feeling I got when watching Frodo and Sam plodding through endless mountains on The Two Towers: poor lambs, they still have the entire Return of the king to go before they get to *&^%$ Mordor!

Young John is already having such a hard time of it when he should be chasing girls and hating his mum like a proper teen. As if being a teenager isn’t bad enough, he has to fight killer robots and figure out the future from his basement wall. And take orders from his mum, which must sting just a little.

Anyway, in Salvation he’s all grown up and Christian Bale, which must be good news. I always hope Kate Winslet will play me in the movie, John must be well chuffed that the Dark Knight himself is taking on the role! On second thoughts, I’d like him to play me as well.

Fans have been so thrilled about Bale signing on and the glimpses of trailers that producers decided not to wait til next summer to see how well Salvation will do: they already signed Bale on to do all three! Director McG is rumored to stick around for all three as well.

Terminator 2 or rather 4, (this is going to be one of those confusing series like Star Wars, where part 2 is actually part 5. I hate it when that happens!) is scheduled for summer 2011. I’ll just go and set my popcorn timer.

Evil Georgina might be returning to the Upper East side!
Last year we met with Serena’s former friend and arch enemy Georgina. When Serena was still a party girl the two used to sleep around and do drugs, but now that Serena has gone goodie two Louboutins Georgina finds sick pleasure in tormentng her.

Hey, anyone tormenting Serena is ok with me and I must say I liked Trachtenberg. As Buffy’s sis (where IS Sarah Michelle Geller anyway? Off having babies? Rehab?) she was a bit too sweet to be true, I like the more curvy, adult version. And her clothes are much, much better.

As with many evil doers, you wonder why they make such a song and dance of being evil, it would be so much easier to just get along.   Or find new friends to go drinking with. But wehey, we need a bit of action in Gossip Girl. Rumors are flying that Georgina is Lily and Rufus’ love child. What do you think?

Of course Georgie could be having a love child of her own, after her fling with Dan?

Wolverine!

“I’m the best there is at what I do, but what I do isn’t very nice”.

If Wolverine ever got into a fight with Superman, we Xmen fans know who’d win: Wolfie! Easy! ‘Cause not only is Logan indestructable with his adamantium claws and extremely strong, he can also fight dirty. WHich is something Superman or Spidey would never do.

Wolfie made his debut in 1974, in The incredile Hulk comic.

This year on May first Wolfie gets his own movie! It’s a prequel to the Xmen trilogy. Its focus is on Wolfie’s dark and violent past, as a hired gun and weapon X.

Lucky for family man Jackman, it was shot in his own backyard, Australia. Hugh had to beef up for his role because he wanted to be true to his character. He even grunted like Wolfie while doing his strenuous cardiovascular workouts. O, to have been a fly on the wall in Wolfie’s gym!

Wolfie’s back and the trailer looks awesome! Any excuse to see Hugh Jackman without his shirt is all right with me, but as Wolverine he sets a new standard of hotness. Hot AND a bit Evil: Nice!

Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore sure gets around in tvland! After a very public snogging session with Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick, the blonde actress seems to have her heart set on another sitcom star: HIMYM’s Jason Segel aka Marshall Erikson.

Segel, also known for his role as an actor and a writer on the hit pic Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and Barrymore were spotted canoodling at Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont. Not a very low key place, so they’re probably not keeping it a secret! They’d make a cute couple. Apparently, they’ve even karaoked in front of an audience together!

Booth in the UK

Brennan and Booth are both in the UK on official business: Booth to talk to the UK police and Brennan to speech at Oxford. They meet up with their British counter parts: a professor of archeology and his female police officer side kick.

Of course things start getting messy soon as more and more bones turn up and their host is killed.

I really like ones, but this two bit basically blew. Brits were made out to be stiff upper lipped idiots who solely drive around in Mini’s
and Booth made an ass of himself as the dumb Yank. A stupid piling up of tired cliches. More slapstick than
mystery and no good at all.

The odds of the British police enlisting the help of two foreigners with no UK experience at all are etremely slim. Imagine f the tables were turned and two Brits barged in to the US to start solving a couple of crimes? Right. It would never happen. All right, all right, I hear you: it’s just TV! Lighten up!

I know, and I’ll let a lot of unlikely stuff slide, but this was just too silly and the murder mystery wasn’t particulary good either. Seemed to me the ‘real’writers were off playing golf and left a ouple of interns to slap a storyline together.

Anyway, glad they’re back in the US and hoping they don’t end up in France next year ‘accidentally’ ordering brains in a restaurant or in The Netherland swearing wooden shoes and smoking dope…..

Bones & Booth

Soooo. Now that basically ALL my series have stopped, it’s time to focus on the future. Bones’ that is.
So, according to executive producer Hart Hanson Bones & Seely will end up in bed together. Naked.
It’s gotta be a dream, right? Because main characters hooking up= always a bad idea. Remember Nanny Fine and Mr Sheffield? Angela and Tony?

So let’s hope t’s just another dare (like when they kissed) or a dream /fantasy sequence?
