All famous detectives have to face the final curtain at some point. When inspector Derrick took his leave, half the world tuned in to see ‘is he dead yet?’ (as one of the headlines in a German newspaper read)
Very late spoiler alert: the inspector lived and went on to rule Interpol. Another inspector, Morse was less fortunate. NYPD Detectice Kelly just packed his bags over night and left to guard rich people. While there couldn’t be a Derrick without Derrick, nor a Morse without Morse, NYPD Blue got along just fine without David Caruso. However, will CSI survive without Grissom? Or Warrick or Sarah?

Grissom has been having a hard time of it, loosing both Warrick and Sarah. “The easiest way to describe Grissom is ‘in crisis,’” Petersen said in an interview last year. “As a man. As a scientist. As a teacher. As a middle-aged person who has been very successful at what he’s done… [he] wonders, ‘What’s the
point?’

So he has to go. But should Grissom die or take the Derrick-road? It would be a good ending, a shoot out, a scary serial killer, burried alive…. On the other hand, he could simply move out to Boca with Sarah. Unlikely, but it would be way more romantic.

“I wouldn’t want to say exactly what we’re going do — I want people to watch, certainly,” Peterson said in an interview. “But Sara is involved… It’s often darkest just before the dawn.”

Does that mean Sarah tries to shoot him? I’ll definitely be tuning in to see whether he lives!
