Family Legacy Episode Recap

Leaks all around! Another family dinner and a lot of hoopla. Kitty and Robert are still bickering about his running for office, Justin and Rebecca are on the outs, and Rebecca brings home a big surprise for Holly.
Meantime, the siblings are slowly on to Tommy´s dealings at Ojai.

Kitty is of course upstaging the birth mom. And looks terrible btw.
Holly was looking darned good! And I thought she was going to tell Julia about his affair.

Darn, I was waaay off base!
It´s a bit of a shame. Robert was way too obvious. Scotty would have been much more interesting. But how cute were Kevin and Scotty? Guess I´m glad he´s still alive.

The Brothers and Sisters Cast

As an episode, Lost and found was pretty ok. Kitty talks about her marital problems to Time magazine and later finds out someone (guess who) has killed the story. Nora goes up to Berkely to visit Ryan and answer some of his questions. Rebecca goes to New York to find her real dad, David. Holly gets suspicious of the business deal with the new vineyard.

I like Ryan, especially since he could still turn out evil. Nora grovelled a bit too much: it´s hardly her fault her hubby couldn´t stop chasing skirt. Though she might´ve divorced him, but that wouldn´t miraculously have meant that William and Ryan´s mom would have lived happily ever after. Actually, the guy who raised Ryan looked like a decent guy, so he can count himself lucky! And he may get a chunk of the Walker pie.

Kitty should totally dump Robert. He´s no good and he never will be and she will be raising that kid on her own. Maybe they can make a deal, where she holds off on divorcing him til she has legally adopted and he can run for governor? I don´t think they´ll give that baby to a woman going through a divorce. Though Cuddy in House got one, no sweat, and she´s a single mom. Anyway, Holly found out about Tommy´s scam. How stupid is this guy that everyone with half a brain can figure out he´s trying to pull a not-so-fast one? And using the same trick his old dad used? Get some new material man! And how did he get his hands on that pension fund?

Is Scotty about to die?

So, the producers of B&S have stated someone´s going to die tragically in two weeks, in a special two hour episode.

Who´s it gonna be? Let´s see. Tommy´s in enough trouble as it is, but Boring Julia could get an accident? Though nobody would notice, so maybe not.

Kitty and Robert are going to get a juicy divorce, so not them either. Nora seems pretty indestructable.
Rebecca? Not interesting enough. Maybe Sara? Or Holly? Though I´d hate to see her go, but maybe Tommy kills her in a fit of rage? Or Scotty? I don´t know! If I had to make a bet, I´d go for….

Scotty. He hasn´t had much of a story line lately and, frankly, I don´t know where the Kevin&Scotty storyline could go from here. They´re already married, Kitty´s doing the whole adoption thing, as gay issues go there only aids and nowadays, that´s not even that big a deal anymore. In the US you can live to a ripe old age, even with aids. They´ve had Scotty´s conservative parents being difficult, they´ve done Scotty making more money and Kevin buying a compensation-house. So my guess is next ep we will see a loved up Kevin&Scotty. A lot. And then, two weeks from now, tragedy will strike and Scotty will, sadly, kick the bucket. Especially since it was rumored there´d be a shocking death: could be gay bashing? What do you think?

Kevin, Scotty, Saul & Henry

Nora is in overdrive setting up Kitty´s baby shower with the help of Sara and Paige. Nora´s read somewhere that you can invite gay relatives to these kinds of things and invites Kevin, Scotty, Saul and Saul´s brand new boy friend, Lex Luthor. I mean Henry. Kitty gets a job offer from her old school to set up a journalism department and Nora tells Sara about her joyous sexlife with Roger.

Call me fussy and childish, but there´s no way I EVER want to know about my mom having sex. I would have to get myself to a nunnery after that! Zoiks. I thought Saul and Henry made a cute couple. How do these people find people to date that quickly? Saul´s barely been out of the closet for a nanosecond and already he´s dating? And not just any old guy, but a kinda cute one? And Nora goes through men like they´re cleenex! How do they do it? Or is it simply that the series would get way too boring if we had to watch Nora and Saul spending every Saturday night for the next five years watching reruns of Happy Days?

Inviting gay men to a baby shower is a bit like assuming that all Russians are called Boris, Catholic girls are virgins and all heterosexual men like to talk about sports. None of which is true, though the last one´s almost true. Not inviting Tommy and Justin actually felt a bit mean. Why not invite them, they probably don´t want to come anyway?

Kitty finally realizes that having a baby wont be all fun and games and turns down the job offer. Robert comes clean about his political aspirations and yet another marriage is slowly circling the drain. According to Ausiello, they are headed towards Splitsville because Kitty gets the hots for some other guy….

Roger the architect is a cheater, which anyone could spot miles away, Rebecca and Justin´s creepy relationship seems to be on its last legs (finally!) and there´s the long lost Walker: Ryan Lafferty! I thought he was cute. Pretty eventful ep!

Kevin, about being invited to Kitty´s baby shower: “We’re gay, we’re supposed to like this sort of thing.”

Rachel Griffiths at the Golden Globes

Rachel Griffiths raised many an eyebrow with her choice of dress for the Golden Globes, a dress that might best be described as a golden sack, an unflattering, wrinkly toga or maybe simply best be forgotten. Of course it’s not fun having people dissing your dress, but there was a good reason for a baggy outfit: Rachel is expecting her third baby!

The pregnancy wont be written into the series as Griffiths planned her baby so as to give birth in the season hiatus. That’s some great planning!

It’s crunchtime for Sara and her start up Greenatopia. After they screw up a tech presentation they have to ace the launch party. Rebecca and Justin are having relationship troubles and Kyle tries to make a pass at Rebecca.

Another Walker family gathering, but not as much drama as usual, which was kinda refreshing. Sara gets it on with one of her partners, Nora is heavily in lust with her architect. I like that Nora, though in her sixties, is dating and having a busy love life. This architect guy is a dish! 

Kevin and Robert go shooting with important people who can help Robert get into office. Looks like Robert is running for governor, I wonder what Kitty will have to say about that….

Kitty & Robert

Kitty is on tour with her book about her family but nobody seems particularily interested. Also she starts to suspect that Robert is keeping a big secret; Sarah has some serious financial issues that could kill her start up Greenatopia before it’s even started. Tommy tries to find allies to push Holly out of the family business and finds help in an unsuspected place.

Quite an interesting episode. How well do we know, or trust, the people we’re married to? Well, not all that well apparently. I must say, I never thought Robert and Kitty very convincing as a couple. Having sex on a desk does not a marriage make. It takes shared jokes, a whole lot of screaming and yes, sharing all your (most embarrassing) secrets! Robert running for governor without telling his wife, while on the verge of adopting a child is just plain WRONG. And spells doom in my book.

Liked it! Lot of different, possibly explosive story lines! Robert, obviously, keeping stuff from Kitty, none of the siblings showing up for her book reading (So where was Tommy? Jerk!)
And speaking of Tommy the Jerk: guess he’ll be on his way to prison soon. I really don’t like him (as if that wasn’t obvious) maybe he’ll get killed in a riot? Poor Rebecca, trying to do a good job and then getting screwed by her sort-of bro. I actually thought they were all right to let Sarah take out a second mortgage to make up for the money: why on earth should Kitty run the risk? And get yelled at for her pains? I thought Kitty got a raw deal this ep, deceitful hubby, unsupportive siblings, yelled at by sis, lied to by brother Kevin… Poor las. She was wearing a great coat though and that handbag!!!

The siblings are back from the holidays and California is looking nice and balmy! As I am snowed in anything that doesn’t require monboots and a big woolly hat is lookin’awfully good to me.

Kevin is recovering from his kidney surgery and keeps having disturbing dreams. Justin goes into Cooper’s primary school as ‘show and tell’, Saul tries to hire an architect for Nora’s pet project, but Norah loathes the man.

The Julia/Kevin sex scene was hilarious.
The whole Kevin trying to break away from his overbearing nurses was very funny. Good ep, high on comedy, low on drama, made a healthy change.

Heather Locklear

I’m quite a Heather Locklear fan: from her Dynasty days as tacky golddigger SammyJo, to scheming Amanda Woodward in Melrose Place and then on to Spin City: Who knew she could do funny too?

Over the last few years life’s been tough on Heather, who turned to drink and was charged with DUI. Then again, that’s like a girlscout badge among Hollywood stars! I’m glad she checked herself into rehab though and seems to be ready to get on with it, starting with, perhaps, a recurring role in B&S. Apparently, HL is lobbying with the producers. I wonder what kind of part she could et? Tommy’s next fling? Yet another WIlliam Walker fling?
Anyway, at 47 she’s still looking HOT!
