Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore sure gets around in tvland! After a very public snogging session with Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick, the blonde actress seems to have her heart set on another sitcom star: HIMYM’s Jason Segel aka Marshall Erikson.

Segel, also known for his role as an actor and a writer on the hit pic Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and Barrymore were spotted canoodling at Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont. Not a very low key place, so they’re probably not keeping it a secret! They’d make a cute couple. Apparently, they’ve even karaoked in front of an audience together!

You think Lily’s ok with this? ;)

HIMYM: The Fight!

Ted and Barney get into a fight, Barney to impress Robin and Ted simply because he wants to experience a fight and is tired of everybody feeling sorry for him.
Pretty funny, but not a great ep. Lily is nnoying when she is in her kinder garten zone, why not let a couple of thirty year olds beat the crap out of each other? As long as they don’t kill each other, it’s fine! Robin getting all horny after Barney showed up with a blck eye was a bit pathetic, I keep hoping the writers will give her slightly more interesting story lines to sink her teeth into but she always seems a bit on the sidelines. Shame.
I’m getting very curious about the goat though! What is it with this goat?!

More babies for HIMYM cast!

Dec 4, 2008 Author: Liz | Filed under: Celebrities, HIMYM

Must be something in the water at the HIMYM set, because only a month after Alyson Hannigan announced her pregnancy, Cobie Smulders, aka HIMYM’s HOT Robin, has stated she too is going to have a baby in the spring.
Series cocreator Craig Thomas commented on the fertility boom on the set:

“Everyone’s tremendously excited by all the impending motherhood here at How I Met Your Mother. We’re all so happy for Cobie and Aly, who will undoubtedly be amazing moms!” said Thomas. “And now, a public service announcement: If you’re trying to start a family, please come visit the set of How I Met Your Mother. Just come by and hang out for a day or two. We can’t legally guarantee anything, but by the time you leave, you will almost certainly be pregnant.”

I for one hope we”re not going to have an influx of babies on the show, because, let”s face it, babies are BORING in sitcoms and would keep the gang from what they do best: hang out in bars.

HIMYM: The Naked guy

HIMYM's Robin

Robin

Very funny episode!

Ted is still sharing an apartment with Robin and when he comes home one night there’s a naked guy sitting on his couch. This is Mitch, Robin’s blind date. Robin is outside taking a phone call and this guy’s just sitting there. Turns out that that’s his move: “The naked man”. He simply takes his clothes off and two out of three times he gets lucky. Ted doesn’t believe him until Robin falls for it. The gang all decide to try out “The Naked Man”.

Very funny episode. I liked how Ted picked up Vicky in the elevator, that poor girl put on less and less clothes just so Ted’d talk to her. Who goes to work (un)dressed like that? Great outfits though. And I really liked Robin trying to prove to herself that she’s not a slut, though I would have slapped Marshall if he’d called me a slut! Just because he’s all loved up with his first love doesn’t mean that the rest of us have to wait for true love to have sex! Luckily! Bit of a double standard going on there: Barney gets to sleep around all the time and Marshall never calls him a slut!

Quote:

Naked guy on couch: “The naked man is a last resort, kind of a Hail Mary of first dates, when you know there isn’t going to be a second date.”
Ted: “How do you know there isn’t going to be a second date?”
Naked Guy: “Just look at me Ted.”
Ted “I’d rather not.”

HIMYM

Ted is still hurting from the break up with Stella, but cheers up when he gets to design a building for Barney’s company, Goliath Bank. Robin is feeling a bit lonely and depressed because she’s unemployed and single and goes looking for some new friends. She hooks up with a bunch of wooo-girls.

Did Barney sell Ted out? Or was that design from Sven just waaaaaay more cool? Boring, grey building or megacool building shaped like a monster spitting fire? Of COURSE Barney had to pick that one! I’d have picked that one! All New York needs is yet another boring skyscraper. Oh well, good for Ted. I really want to go to that place they were at, Giddy-Up, looked like sooo much fun! And I want to work at Barney’s office! Have ‘conference calls’, drink beer, throw cans at pigeons: sounds, well, awesome!

Barneyism: “Who would wooo, Lily, who would wooo?”

HIMYM Barney

Lily and Marshall decide to have a baby, but Lily gets cold feet and calls on Robin and Ted to help her decide.

I like the way they portrayed the way people decide to have kids: Lily and Marshall are deep in debt, live in a crappy apartment, and work all hours of the day. Yet looking at a baby’s sock decides them on having a child. Yep. I’ve seen that happen. Soooo, Robin moves in with Ted, ey?
Well, she’s still aunt Robin, so I guess that’s not gonna happen (I’m still rooting for Barney&Robin, when’s that gonna happen?!) And I’m very glad Lily and Marshall aren’t having a baby. Come on, people having babies are boring!

Also nice to see Kevin’s dad (The Wonderyears!) again, though he didn’t get to do much.

Funny quotes:

Lily: “Baby me, Marshall, I’m ready!”

Robin to Ted “Every time you hear the word ‘kid’ you get two little lactation stains on your shirt.” (ouch!)

Barney:
“The cheerleader effect is when a group of women seems hot, but only as a group. It’s like with cheerleaders. They seem hot, but take each one individually: sled dogs. And that, my friends, is the cheerleader effect, also known as the brides maids paradox, and, for a brief period in the nineties, the Spice girls syndrome. Scary Spice indeed.”

HIMYM Happily ever after S04E06

Ted & Barney

Ted & Barney

What a GREAT episode!
I missed HIMYM, the week’s just not the same without it.
Anyway, Ted has to deal with Stella dumping him at the altar, the gang tries to cheer him up, but he acts like there’s nothing wrong. Of course there is, and they all try and help him through it.

Of course I wanted Stella to be extremely unhappy at having made the wrong choice, but in the end I kinda liked the fact stuff worked out for her. And that she’s still out of the series, because she was as dull as two sticks. And Ted’s back, ready to play the field! Robin’s also back, great story line about her dad btw, so will they we snuggling up together once more? I hope not, I’m rooting for Barney and Robin as a couple (Rorney? Babrin?) but if that’s meant to be than they sure are taking things slow… So who’ll be Ted’s dream girl? And what will happen now that Allyson Hannigan is pregnant? Will Marshall be a daddy?

Gossip Girl S02E08 Pret-a-poor-J

Chuck & Blair

Chuck & Blair

No HIMYM alas last night! Because of the world series? I don’t care about the world series!!!!! I want my weekly fix of Marshall and Barney! Anyway, there was Gossip Girl though, apparently Manhattan’s too chique to be bothered by a little thing like the world series and it was actually pretty good!

Serena and Dan attend Rufus art opening as nauseating friends, but Serena kills the mood by hooking up with budding artist Aaron Rose (those glasses. Yikes. I know, I know, they are the latest in eyewear and chic, still he looks like an idiot) Little J has to deal with Eleanor Waldorf, who is attempting to “borrow” Jenny’s designs. Sighing, saw that one coming a mile away. Also: she’s been working there for what? A week? Already the daggers come out?  Blair attempts to seduce Chuck, why?, who doesn’t want to sleep with her. Reaaaally? A 17 year old boy doesn’t want to sleep with a nubile young girl until she tells him she loves him?

GG hasn’t been my favorite this season, but I liked tonight’s unlikely teaming up of Dan and Blair, trying to seduce Chuck.

What’s with the hair though? ‘Shorter, blonder’? She looks like a druggie.

Best quote of the week? There were a lot of them, but this one really cracked me up:
Sorry J., but in the real world you can’t take a note to the principle when a drunken model eats your homework

HIMYM Alysson Hannigan pregnant!

Oct 24, 2008 Author: Liz | Filed under: Celebrities, HIMYM
Alysson and Alexis tying the knot

Alysson and Alexis tying the knot

Rumors had been flying for a bit but now it’s official: Alysson Hannigan and hubby Alexis Denisof are expecting their first baby together. The couple, who met on th set of good ol’ Buffy the Vampire Slayer, got hitched in 2003 and are ‘thrilled’ (can’t anyone ever think of another word? Scared witless for instance? I know, that’s two words…)

Great for them, but how will it affect the storyline? Are Marshall and Lily about to become proud parents? Won’t that be boring? Remember Ross and Rachel? Though we didn’t see that much of that baby.

Or will Lily wear big blousy things, hide her belly behind big objects and simply gain quite a bit of weight on the show? It’s all been  done before…..

HIMYM co-creator Carter Bays told TVGuide.com, “We are thrilled for Alyson and Alexis, and we know that they are going to be amazing parents. It’s too early to say how this will impact the show going forward, although we may have to push the ‘Lily wins a gold medal in gymnastics’ storyline to next season.”

Ted and Stella, getting hitched?

Ted and Stella, getting hitched?

Great episode, and gladly the End of Boring Stella!
However, did anyone else recognize almost the entire plot of 27 Dresses?

No matter, still a great episode, and a lot funnier than 27 Dresses. Stella’s sister’s wedding gets cancelled at the last minute and Stella & Ted jump in to take the entire thing on. Trouble starts when both their exes show up for the wedding. Classic Barney quotes galore, and wow, what a great ending! I’ll say one thing for Stella/Sarah Chalke: she looked damn hot in that dress!
