Peyton & Lucas

Peyton & Lucas

Pretty exciting episode!
Samantha smuggles a boy into her room and Brooke freaks out. Nathan has a chance to try out in front of a bunch of major coaches. Jamie has a kiddie piano recital, but he’s not exactly in love with playing the piano. Brooke gets a shot at designing clothes for Lucas’ film and Peyton goes to see the doctor for her stomach pains, while Lucas jets off to Los Angeles to meet with a movie director.

I thought Dawson’s Creek James van der Beek was a big disappointment as a coke snorting movie buff. Unconvincing and even pathetic. Shame, I liked him in HIMYM as Robin’s geeky ex.

Soooo, does Peyton have cancer? Will she die? Will Lucas and Peyton get married before she dies? Will the wedding be in the hospital? Or will they search for a miracle cure?

And what’s going to happen with Sam and the creepy older brother who shot Q.?!
And Millie and OWEN? Owen back on the booze? Millie going all slutty? Why oh why didn’t she just sleep with her own boyfriend, Mouth, rather than make a big deal out of not a hell of a lot and keep spying on Mouth and Gigi? Still, I guess it’s never bad to sleep with a handsome stud like Owen, so maybe Millie’s onto something….

Bethany Joy Galeotti/Haley

Bethany Joy Galeotti/Haley

One Tree Hill goes Casablanca, which basically means that all the story lines get played out in a forties setting. Ish. Brooke is in debt with Dan, Lucas is still trying to deal with Julian, Mouth is onto something big.

I must admit, I never much saw the point of Haley or her singing, she always had these highly forgettable ditties that seemed to consist of singing the same boring line over and over and over again, but wow! She blew me out of the water with that song she sang last night! And she looked GREAT! She should really be singing this kind of stuff, rather than the poppy nothingish crap she usually tackles. Loved the whole look of the ep, actually. Casablanca is a bit lame, are there no other movies to parody? Then again, it did give a nice twist to the characters and their relationships. And wonderful outfits. Luke should dress up like that more and I really want that dress Peyton was wearing. Anybody know where she got it?

Haley, awful dress

Haley, awful dress

Rather uneventful episode, Nathan gets a visit from an old friend, Peyton holds a benefit for her brother Derek, Haley suffers from stage fright and Brooke has a shot at adopting a baby, but Sam doesn’t like it one bit. Gigi is still hitting on Mouth and ends up in his bed….

Loved the way Lucas punched Julian. I still say Peyton went about it all wrong, she should have underplayed it and never, ever, said “we were in love”. Yikes!
Anyway, I guess Movie Guy will be around for a bit (he’s cute, maybe he should have a go at Brooke?) Haley looked awful in that terrible dress! It was perfect for a ten year old going to Sunday school, not for a bunch of horny marines! Peyton looked great

Peyton, lookin' good

Peyton

though.

Millie is a VIRGIN? And refuses to do any of “the other stuff”? Poor Mouth! I don’t think Nathan or Lucas ever had to put up with any of that crap. If she’s not gonna do any ’stuff’ Mouth should move on, come on, they’re not 12! They are living together!

Joe Manganiello, aka Hunky Owen

Joe Manganiello, aka Hunky Owen

Lucas is trying to write the scene where Keith gets shot by Dan and receives a helping hand from an unexpected quarter, Nathan plays the semi finals of Slamball, but his rivals are out to hurt him, Brooke finds a naked man in her car and Jamie gets a lesson in economics from Sam.

Last episode ended with creepy movie buff buying Lucas’ book and Peyton freaking out. So who is this guy? The answer is reaaaaally boring. I was hoping for drug dealer, the man who sold her baby, her buddy in a bank robbery, but no, alas, it’s simply an ex boyfriend. So then we get a couple of flash backs which are supposed to portray a Great Love Affair, but it’s weak. They’re all loved up and then break up over a BOOK?!

And why doesn’t Peyton simply come out and tell Lucas? It’s a pretty good story for him, basically he broke them up! I know, I know, it’s a soap….

Finding a huge naked man in my car would have totally freaked me out as well, but on second thoughts, Owen is really hunky, so I don’t think I’d have kicked him out. Hot, hot, hot. I guess he’ll be gone again from now on, seen as Brooke doesn’t want to get back together and Nathan is quitting Slamball, and it’s a shame. ‘Cause he sure looked good getting arrested!

One Tree Hill S06E08 our life is a movie!

Peyton & Lucas gettng married

Peyton & Lucas gettng married

Why is it that after years and years of weddings going horribly wrong, people still snigger at ‘you’re not supposed to see the dress before the wedding’? Especially Lucas, with a bit of a lousy track record in weddings, should be staying away from black cats, not walking under ladders and definitely, definitely make sure he doesn’t see bride or gown a second before the wedding. We’re betting Peyton will get kidnapped, maybe by creepy movie guy, since at the moment there doesn’t seem to be any body else.

Good episode. I like that Quentin hasn’t been forgot. Often in series, people die, everybody cries and hey, it’s back to normal. Nathan plays slamball and of course he gets hurt, Lucas sits mooning around (writing must pay reaaally well if he gets to pout around and mull over selling the movie rights to his book. At what? 24? Mouth having a horny intern is a bit of an icky joke.  I like Owen being back. CUTE!

Something was bound to go wrong with the dress as peyton is wearing something completely different in these pictures. So, is this a dream sequence? Or does she really wear her hair like that? Shame, her hair usually looks so great and in this picture, ai.

Funny quote:

Nathan to Owen “I think of all the things you screwed up in your life Brooke Davis is definitely in the top two.”

Owen: “What’s the other one?”

Nathan: “That haircut.”

Owen “Or maybe my drug addiction?”
Nathan “Or maybe that.”

Here’s the creepy guy wanting to make the book into a movie:

Sophia & James!

Sophia & James!

I just read it on JustJared! One Tree Hill’s Brooke is dating OTH Nathan! You’d think Sophia would think twice after the whole Chad Michael Murray divorce hing, but apparently she’s undeterred. They make a cute couple though….

Not so cute: Chad Michael (you really think his friends call him that? Or would it be just ‘Chad’?) should be kinda ashamed of himself outing his ex and his co-star. The interviewer probably never watched a OTH episode in her life! So Chad is 27 and getting ready to get married for the second time? How, at this rate he’ll be giving Elizabeth Taylor a run for her money….

One Tree Hill Messing with the kid (S06E07)

One Tree Hill Girls

One Tree Hill Girls

Bit of a slow episode, but hey, I still like this show.
Peyton and Lucas deal with the lesser sides of moving in together, Brooke and her new house guest Homeless Samantha have to learn to live with each other and little Jamie gets into a fight at school. Not exactly potent stuff. Owen returns and explains himself to Brooke.

The only thing that cracked me up was grandpa Dan (I love him!) telling the evil kid’s mom “So you’re the mom of the kid my grandson got into a fight with. Hey, I’d love to join you for a drink, but I have to go meet my parole officer. Murder.”

It was actually ok that it was more or less realistic about moving in together. It’s not always a picnic and most series just gloss over it and go straight to marriage/babies/kidnapping/divorce. Brooke and Samantha were very predictable, One Tree Hill reaaaaally needs a new bad guy now that Evil Carrie has kicked the bucket.

Bit goody-goody though, a lot of happy couples hugging on couches, but okay to watch. Where’s Grandpa Dan toting a gun when you need him?

Here’s the link to Sidereel, the Megavideo is out of sink again, what’s with that?

James Van Der Beek in One Tree Hill!

James Van Der Beek on HIMYM

James Van Der Beek on HIMYM

Ok, so I never liked James Van Der Beek much in Dawson’s Creek, I prefer my men with a bit of an edge and not quite so much teenage Angst. I really like him as a guest star though: he was hilarious as Robin’s balding, fat, Canadian loser ex in HIMYM and pretty scary as a serial killer in Criminal Minds, so I think he might be good in OTH.

Ok, for everyone who missed JVDB on HIMYM, here it is:

Also, I think it’s kinda nice. OTH are filming on the old Dawson set and apparently in OTH, James will play a movie buff who might be interested in turning Lucas’ book into a movie. Full circle, or what?

Exec Producer Mark Schwahn told Entertainment Weekly “We’re about to [complete] 128 episodes, which is what Dawson’s did,” And adds  “So I thought it would be cool to get James.”

So do we, so do we!

Choosing my own way of life, One Tree Hill S06E06

Loved last night’s episode. After all the excitement it was time for a quieter episode, give us a chance tyo catch up. Lucas went on his book tour, Nathan went to look at a new team who play Slamball, (it exists! I looked it up!) Peyton got to know her dad better, Brooke is picking up her life: good.

I liked the fact that Mouth finally came out as the cool guy! Being a bit of a hero, even if it is in Oklahoma, good for him! Lucas got taken a down a peg, which was high time. He basically wrote the same book twice and screwed his editor. Nathan playing slamball, well, I guess that’s a way forward. Looks like a bit of a ridiculous game. Brooke fostering the troubled teen, I predicted that, and I love being right, so that story line works for me! Dan sending flowers to Debs? Whaat? Like she’ll fall for that AGAIN? Well, she might. Stranger things have happened in the world of One Tree Hill.

All in all, a pleasant episode, but next week let’s get back to some action. Who can grandpa Dan shoot this time? Maybe Skills should watch his back……

One Tree Hill: You’ve dug your own grave

Brooke

Brooke

You’ve dug your own grave… was quite an exciting episode. I actually jumped in my seat when Crazy Nanny Carrie suddenly appeared in the car window. Nice!

So what will happen next? Grandpa Dan still seems indestructible, even without a heart he’s still going around shooting people. Which in this case was good, but I really think it’s time for him to kick the bucket already. Doesn’t leave One Tree Hill with many villains though, so my guess is they’ll dig up a heart for the old Danster somewhere.

The Mick-is-my-dad-thing could get sorta interesting, I was really hoping that Mick would show up for dinner at Peyton’s and make a pass at her. The candlelit dinner for two could have so sent the wrong message to an ageing rock & roller! Might delay things for the wedding.

Nathan really needed a reality check: you haven’t played a game in eons and now the NBA is calling? Yeah right! What exactly does he live on anyway? He doesn’t have a job, maybe he should get one. Might get him off his high horse. I like Deb and Skills together. And I sincerely hope I look half as good when I get to Deb’s age!

Which brings me to Brooke: ok, I like Brooke as a character, but the Voice seems to be getting just a little worse each episode. Makes me sympathy cough throughout every episode and I’d like it to stop. I didn’t quit smoking to have my throat ripped because of Brooke!

Also, I think it’s time she got a life. The whole mom-thing is way past it’s due date. I know, they’re all only supposed to be in their early twenties, but as Brooke looks to be at least in her thirties, maybe it’s time to cut the cord: some moms suck. Deal with it! Guess she’ll be adopting the troubled shoplifting teen. Anyway, I’m liking this season, how ’bout you?
