Sooo, Sean ‘s here! Or is he?

And is Naomi’s mom on drugs? “My SON!!!!!” Poor lad, must be scared. And that HAIR!

It might all be a hoax, he looked kinda dodgy. And showing up in uniform? Nah, he’s just trying to squeeze ‘em for money.
Dixon is not happy about the ‘real’ son showing up, understandably, and Annie and Ethan are starting afresh as a real couple, but Naomi is shooting daggers at the new couple. And now Naomi and Annie also have to share a new half brother, which makes them a lot more related than they want to be.

Kelly tries to mend bridges with Brenda. Not going great, something to do with plants.

I actually like Naomi and Ozz. Cute couple. Especially Ozz.

Uncle Saul aka Ron Rifkin

Uncle Saul aka Ron Rifkin

Sarah cooks a celebratory dinner for Scotty who’s had a raise, Justin tries to set Saul up. Kevin has to deal with a pay cut and tries to compensate by buying a mansion.

Rather slow episode. Again. And not really realistic. Sooo. Nora goes out to buy a house for her charity without checking the inside and whoever is funding it is ok with that? Just let any old housewife with too much time on her hands squander millions on some house that might be filled with rats or fungi? And then Kevin ends up buying the house his mom wants to buy. Because he’s feeling low he’s buying a mansion of over 700.000 dollars?! That’s some retail therapy. To top it all off,  he simply expects his mom to take the house off his hands when he finds out Scotty doens’t want it.It’s all a bit neat and especially in this time of global crisis, with lots of people having to sell their homes because they can’t afford it, a little insensitive. Who are these people who can just fork over nearly a million on a whim? “I’ll just dip into my savings”?! Then there’s the weird Sarah cooking Scotty dinner thing. I know these writers love nothing more than a Walker family dinner where everyone spills the beans about everybody else, but wouldn’t they ever tire of it themselves? And who would invite a guy whose just made head chef at some fancy schmancy restaurant over for chicken piccata? And who… Oh, forget it. They definitely need a bit more action, a new bad guy. Where’s Ryan? What evil schemes is his dad plotting? Thank God Lionel Luthor?! Aka John Glover is coming to the rescue!

Soooo, Saul is seeing someone. And not Paul (hello-o, how out of touch is Justin anyway? A fat ex-druggie vs rather suave and sophisticated uncle Saul? I’m guessing it is Lionel Luthor and that stuff might get interesting very soon. Let’s hope so, ’cause this was kinda boring.

I like the new, confident and stubbly Scotty though!

7 reasons I want to be Bones!

Nov 17, 2008 Author: Liz | Filed under: Bones, Celebrities
Bones & Booth

Bones & Booth

I love the show Bones. I really like the way the crew interact, the writings superb and they’re really funny. Recently, I’ve found myself envying Temperance Brennan. She’s got her stuff together! And gets to work with Seely Booth!

So here’s 7 reasons I’d love to be Temperance ‘Bones’ Brennan:

1 I’d get to shoot a gun at bad guys

2 I’d get to be totally arrogant about all the stuff I can do and how brilliant I am and I’d actually be right!

3 I’d be a best selling author

4 I’d have a really cool job

5 AND put away bad guys

6 I’d be able to compartmentalize and not worry about stuff that I cannot do anything about, even, say if my partner died taking a bullet for me!

7 Did I mention, I’d get to work with Seely ‘Angel’ Booth every day? NICE!

Worst dressed celeb of the week: Amy Winehouse. OMG!

Nov 15, 2008 Author: Liz | Filed under: Celebrities
Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse

You know, there are weeks when I have to sniff around a bit to find a worst or a best dressed celeb.

This week, however, was a complete shoe in. That poor girl. Even though I saw her trying to eat a live mouse on YouTube (it was so gross I shut it off before she or her lovely companion, Pete Doherty, could actually succede) she does still seem to have a knack for sinking to greater lows.

The return of Winona. As Spock’s MOM?!

Spock's mom in 1986

Jane Wyatt

Winona Ryder

Winona Ryder

Ok, so I know Winona Ryder has been out of the picture since, well, basically the nineties. All most people will remember of her is that she shop lifted her way out of a career and then was never seen or heard from again.

I, however, can still remember the nineties, and though ol’ Winnie made some bad choices (Little Women anyone? Or that terrible flick with Richard Gere, November or Autumn or something? Zoiks!) However, she was also in some iconic nineties stuff, like Reality bites, Girl interrupted and The age of innocence.

Sooooo. To boldly go from nineties icon to Spock’s mom? Wow, if I’d been offered that role I’d have had to swallow. She’s only 37 fgs and already playing moms! Spock’s previous mom was the 76 year old (!) Jane Wyatt. She did a wonderful job, but, you know, she was OLD.

On the other hand, I’d give my two front teeth to be in a Star Trek movie, so who cares? Good for Winona. Though I’d want to be Spock or Kirk. Or maybe McCoy. I really like that Keith Urban gets to play McCoy. It’s great that someone who’s been a fan of the series since age 7 gets to join in the fun. And he’s kinda cute.

    Lena Heady as Sarah Connor

    Lena Heady as Sarah Connor

John is fed up being chased and tries to escape and be a kid for a day, taking Riley with him to Mexico. Bad idea, since he used to live there with his mom and his face is still known. Cromartie tracks down Sarah, Derek, Cameron and agent Ellison come to the rescue.

So, you’re sixteen years old, you’ve taken your girlfriend to Mexico, got her the honeymoon suite no less and just when you’re about to get it on Bam! a deathwrecking homicidal robot shows up. I hate it when that happens.

Cromartie finally bites the dust in a John Woo-esk shoot out in a church: bit much, but fun.

I also like agent Ellison. He’s lost everything, but he’s still willing to put his life on the line to save someone else’s future. I was kinda hoping Riley would be collateral damage, an accidental bullit to the head, maybe? But no such luck. I didn’t think the different points of view worked, because they didn’t see it through to the end. Now it was just a gimmick, it didn’t really add any layers or tension to the story. Maybe Sarah can lighten up on the guy now? Does she have to be quite that gloomy all the time? Will that change now Cromartie is gone? Will she have to go out and find a job, join a gym, bake? Guess not, there’ll be another, bad-asser, killing machine sent down from the future any day now.

I thought Sarah’s meltdown was one of the most convincing things I’ve seen on SCC, sometimes I forget Lena Heady is a good actress. Sooooo, Cameron and John? What would it be like to have sex with a robot? Is it even possible? Does she have the ‘stuff’? I think John’s dying to find out….

    Jennie Garth

    Jennie Garth

Naomi is seriously pissed off at Annie for going behind her back with Ethan and plots an eleborate revenge (don’t these girls ever have homework?) The long lost son shows up and causes more than a little friction in the household. Kelly’s back from her showdown with Dylan.

Love Naomi’s new hair! Wow! So much better than the eighties throwback curls. Very sophisticated. So Jason’s kinda hot in swimming trunks! Other than that, he’s a bit of a doofus. And Jennie Garth is looking much better, she’s a lot better looking than most of the teens on the cast. Well done.

Soooo, the new son. How will this develop? He looks kinda boring, like a big boyscout. Will Naomi try to bed him?
