Brian Austin Green

When the new 90210 was first rumored my husband came clean about his past: in his teens, he used to have a Jennie Garth poster in his bedroom. I, like any wife worth her salt, gave him hell. So now, I ‘ll let you in on a tiny secret: I used to fancy Brian Austin Green way, back in the day.

Katie Holmes Eli Stone ‘steamy’ video

Oct 10, 2008 Author: Liz | Filed under: Other

Not so steamy Katie

Katie Holmes has made some bad career choices, starting of course, with marrying village idiot Cruise. It’s a bit like Jennifer Anniston: marrying Brad Pitt, then the hottest guy on the planet probably seemed like a good idea at the time, but looking back…..

These days Katie mostly gets headlines for wearing the same pair of sunglasses as daughter Suri or stepping out with Posh, not for her acting abilities and Tom, well, we all know what his headlines are like. finally she’s making a bit of a stir doing some acting, this time in ABC’s Eli Stone, a show I quite like, but wouldn’t miss if it was axed. The singing and visions are all a bit too Ally McBeal for me, and they’re lawyers to boot. Not as much crying, thank god, as on Ally McBeal which seemed to have every episode end with someone walking alone in the rainy or snowy night.

Anyway, Katie’s one of Eli’s visions in an episode that’s yet to air. It’s propably meant to be sexy, dancing in some kind of catsuit and so far it’s been described as ‘steamy’ ‘hot’ and ‘sexy’.I’m sorry, are we looking at the same pics/vids here? So NOT sexy! Looks like a bloke with a wig in really high heels. Nope. Not doing it for us, not sexy at all.  And steamy only because she seems to be dancing in some sort of cloud. I quite like her singing though. Katie’s episode airs 21st of October

90210: Doherty, Priestly, Perry, who cares?

Dylan & Brenda

Dylan & Brenda

Jason Priestly didn’t want to reprise his role as Brandon Walsh, but the actor is currently in talks to direct a 90210 episode next spring. Apparently, producers think it would ‘ad something special’. Uhuh.

Former onscreen sis Shannen was also back on the small screen for a bit and BH-90210 Wild Child managed to make waves even though she  hardly had any screen time at all, reportedly leaving in a bit of a huff, stating she ‘only came back as a show of gratitude to her fans’. Well, I’m sure all your fans are extremely gratified by your wonderful, inspirational performance, Shan!

Sources say Shannen is already in negotiations to be on the show another couple of episodes. Now why would they want to go and do that? Shannen’s character was axed from the original 90210 because of prima donna behavior and endless feuding. The same thing happened when she went on to star in the witchfest Charmed. Apparently, some people never learn. Back then, at least she was fresh and pretty, but these days it looks like they simply hose her down and throw her in front of a camera. So why would anyone bother?

Still not coming back is former heartthrob Luke Perry, aka Dylan McKay. He even refused to answer questions about his possible return in a recent interview. As the interviewer said ‘He’s Dylan McKay, what the hell does he think we want to talk about?’
With Perry’s recent career including little gems such as Biker mice from mars and the unforgettable The sandlot 3, we can totally understand that he’s obviously way too cool and busy to return to 90210!

90210: hard to admit, but I’m hooked!

90210

90210

It’s one of life’s guilty little pleasures, the all new 90210. I really think it’s getting its act together. Starting out as a sappy family friendly show with well intentioned overall bad acting, I think we’re finally getting somewhere.

It helps that the focus is not completely on Annie anymore. She’s cute, but she’s so goody goody I hope that in good ol’ BH-90210 style, she’ll get addicted to something soon. Guess drugs are out after last episode, but hey, there’s always painkillers!

I loved the old show and that started out sappy too, and then from one day to the next they were all having sex (well, apart from Donna, but hey, she got addicted to pain killers!) and getting date raped and stuff. I think that’s just around the corner for the all new 90210. I’m glad they’ve moved with the times and are not advocating abstinence and carting everyone who ever has a drink off to rehab.

And they’re not all bad actors, Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) for one is ok.  One of the biggest beefs I have with Naomi is not her acting, it’s her age. She’s only 20 in real life, but she looks a well preserved 40. She looks older than her mom and a lot less hot, and this is the local IT- girl?

Which brings me to the biggest flaw: the clothes, the godawful clothes! These girls, Naomi, Silver, Adriana, they are supposed to be incredibly wealthy and hip, then why on earth do they dress like THAT? Last episode, uberpopular bitchqueen Naomi dressed in some kind of home made dirndl dress and Adriana, the budding starlet, in something off the rack at Walmarts’. Where is the Fashion? The Louboutins, the Prada, the Rodeo Drive bling? So far, the girls mothers look way more fashionable than they do and the guidance councellor fgs wears better shoes! Don’t know where you went to school, but I sincerely hope I was more with it than my guidance councellor. Then again, he didn’t look much like Kelly Taylor

Anyway, whoever is in charge of the outfits @ 90210 could learn a lot from watching Gossip Girl. Or HIMYM.

Japan?!! HIMYM, I heart NJ (S04E03)

Table of contents for HIMYM

  1. Japan?!! HIMYM, I heart NJ (S04E03)
Barney & Robin

Barney & Robin

Japan?!! Did you see the look on poor Barney’s face when Robin said she’d be moving to Japan?????
Just as I was hoping that this might be the end of Boring Stella (Sarah Chalke), because of the whole New Jersey-thing, by the way, what is up with that? Why was there absolutely no discussion possible? Why does Stella get to storm off and Ted just has to take it?

I really don’t like her, hope she goes away. I will say it again: I like Sarah Chalke in Scrubs, but in HIMYM she’s just a dud. She never has any funny lines and she’s way too grown up for the others, probably because of the whole doctor and child-thing.

Anyway, what will happen with Robin and Barney? Will Barney finally admit to his feelings? Probably. But what will Robin do? And is it me, or is this more a Friends-situation than a HIMYM-situation? I LOVE Barney, I love that he tried to pick up a lesbian! I just sincerely hope they are not going to turn Barney&Robin into Ross&Rachel. Not sure Barney will be funny in a relationship.

I have the feeling, and I think there’s a lot of HIMYM-fans out there who share this sentiment, that the writing’s a bit off this season. Really hope it picks up and ditching Stella, and maybe bringing back Victoria? would be great.

How I met your mother: season 4 premiere!

Oct 9, 2008 Author: Liz | Filed under: HIMYM

It’s not often that I am actually waiting for a series to start again. The third season of 24, yes. The season premiere of Dynasty after they ALL got shot during the wedding in Moldavia: sure. And back when North an South was first on tv I literally couldn’t sleep the night before it was on again (I had it bad for Patrick Swayze)(and I have been mocked for it ever since. My best friend even managed to work it into his wedding service!)The new HIMYM-series was not the stuff of North and SOuth, I slept fine, thank you, but yeah, I was kinda curious to see how Barney woes Robin. They’d make such a great couple!

Also I think HIMYM is one of the funniest things on tv right now. I am so glad they just sit around and drink a lot and not just coffee!

That’s one of the things that always bummed me out about Friends: the endless coffee.

HIMYM is sharp, funny and to coin a phrase: awesome. It makes me want to call my friends and go out. So I guess it’s a bit of a surrogate for actually going out with my friends since I am 2000 km away from them. Still: great show!

Not a big Ted-and-Stella fan I must admit. And if she’s the kids’ mother wouldn’t her name ring a bell?
And they’d have a stepsister, who’d be excluded from this family-bonding thing. So no, I do not think Stella is the mom. I don’t like her much, I prefer her in Scrubs, maybe it’s the hair, but something’s off with hr face in this haircut. Anyway I liked the cupcake girl who went to Germany, can we have her back?

Gossip Girl: the season so far

Oct 9, 2008 Author: Liz | Filed under: Gossip Girl

Is it me or is GG struggling to live up to its reputation of hot, fresh, uberfashionable series?

The gals still look great but the story line is already getting old: Serena and Dan: puhlease! Why exactly did they break up? Ther’re acting as if Dan is the son of the poolboy, his father owns an art gallery ffs! Hardly the poor hungry masses. And is it me, or is Dan getting more of a self righteous prick every episode?

Serena as a character I find rather tdious as well. Love the hair though, just imagine walking around with a subtle breeze blowing through your hair al the time: that’d be great…

But apart from looking great I find her Micha Bartoneskly limited as an actress. Which worked for Micha, but was rather a bore to watch. Now Leighton Meester (Blair) is a much better actress and extremely pretty as well, but this whole “I want to be a good girl, but I accidently end up sleeping with bad boys” routine is getting stale as well.
Let’s hope things’ll be heating up soon in GG, ’cause I’m bored. Maybe the new, bitchy Serena?
