Ted runs into an old girl friend and explains to his kids how this changed his entire life. Barney reaches the magic 200th notch on his bed post and is looking for a special way to celebrate.
Liked it a lot! Robin puking on live telly, Barney sleeping with a scary body builder, Marshal getting hooked on pie charts (“Here´s a pie chart of my favorite bars, and this is a bar graph of my favorite pies.”) Ted trying to design a restaurant shaped like a cowboy hat (though it can´t be that hard, really?). And the whole messing with flash forwards and backwards.
Big disappointment was, of course, Stella (Sarah Chalke) showing up. Why oh why couldn´t it have been Victoria? So much the more fun character, and she might be back by now, right? God, I had tried to forget dull, dull, DULL Stella who forced Ted to move to New Jersey and then dumped him on their wedding day. Somehow, she was dull even after that. I guess she´ll introduce Ted to the Mrs. somehow, she couldn´t possibly be The Mom, if only because she´s too blonde. And did I mention DULL? It was good that they mentioned Lily, still off having her baby.

One lame thing: usually these guys follow through on their easter eggs and gimmicks, like the website on Canadian sexual positions in the hilarious Old King Clancy, but this time the Robin vomits on air-video on Youtube was just plain lame:
That´s it! LAME!
Homeless guy played by Dan Castelleneta aka Homer Simpson was a nice touch though.
Barney is banished from playing laser tag, which leads to Ted putting it on his Murtaugh List. Marshall takes over Lily´s kindergarten basketball team, but whereas Lily thought it would be great dad practise, Marshall takes it a little too seriously.
There was some search engine fun: McElroy and Lafleur, according to Robin “the greatest Canadian action movie of all time”.
Of course, we googled.
According to Ohiomm.com, it´s an actual eighties Canadian cop film series, designed as “Laurel and Hardy with uzis” (did they even have uzis in the eighties? Let alone in Canada?) with lead roles for one Jeff Wincott and Clark Johnson. And Denise Anderson, who later changed her name to Pamela. I love that the HIMYM guys have been up all night thinking up this stuff! Must be so much fun!
Funny quotes:
Barney to Ted about completing every single thing on Teds Murtaugh list within 24 hours: “And after I do, you will tp the laser tag place with me!”
Ted: “And if you can´t do it?”
Barney:”I will spend three hours listening to you talking about architecture.”
Ted:”You have got yourself a deal!”
Ted:”Robin, life is a meal and old age is the dessert.”

I haven´t laughed this much at a tvshow in a long, long time!
Wow. Funniest ep ever. The gang has to admit they have never watched Robin´s morning show, so they all meet up in their pj´s at 3.30 to watch it. Ted gets dumped by Karen and Lily had something to do with it. Turns out, Lily´s been getting rid of every one of Ted´s girl friends that failed the Front Porch test for years. Including Robin…
The funniest thing is that while Lily and Ted are discussing this, Robin´s show is on in the background and she´s putting out fires, saving lives and delivering babies and Marshall and Barney are having a pj showdown.
Funny quotes:
“Marshall´s wearing a night gown! Marshall´s wearing a night gown!!!!”
Ted: “I lived with Marshall for 12 years. Anytime he´s wearing clothes at all is a victory!”

Robin’s been unemployed for so long that she’s facing deportation back to Canada. Barney can’t face a world without her and tries to help by making a video resume.
I loved it! Barney is incredibly funny, his resume is, in a word, >>>Twilight: Robert & Kristen hook up after all?
“>awesome. Here’s a link
The gang starts mocking each other’s silly resume parts: Marshall still has himself down as a dunking champion, even though he hasn’t been able to dunk for years, due to a, errr, ‘basketball’ injury. Ted still has his college radioshow and Lily her hotdog eating championship. Very, very funny (and was that Alyson Hannigan’s actual, pregnant belly?) but it also made me think: I was my university’s Trivial Pursuit Champion in 1997. Maybe it is time to remove that from my resume….

What a GREAT episode!
I missed HIMYM, the week’s just not the same without it.
Anyway, Ted has to deal with Stella dumping him at the altar, the gang tries to cheer him up, but he acts like there’s nothing wrong. Of course there is, and they all try and help him through it.
Of course I wanted Stella to be extremely unhappy at having made the wrong choice, but in the end I kinda liked the fact stuff worked out for her. And that she’s still out of the series, because she was as dull as two sticks. And Ted’s back, ready to play the field! Robin’s also back, great story line about her dad btw, so will they we snuggling up together once more? I hope not, I’m rooting for Barney and Robin as a couple (Rorney? Babrin?) but if that’s meant to be than they sure are taking things slow… So who’ll be Ted’s dream girl? And what will happen now that Allyson Hannigan is pregnant? Will Marshall be a daddy?
Here’s the link for all you sidereelers/Megavideo fans!
Japan?!! Did you see the look on poor Barney’s face when Robin said she’d be moving to Japan?????
Just as I was hoping that this might be the end of Boring Stella (Sarah Chalke), because of the whole New Jersey-thing, by the way, what is up with that? Why was there absolutely no discussion possible? Why does Stella get to storm off and Ted just has to take it?
I really don’t like her, hope she goes away. I will say it again: I like Sarah Chalke in Scrubs, but in HIMYM she’s just a dud. She never has any funny lines and she’s way too grown up for the others, probably because of the whole doctor and child-thing.
Anyway, what will happen with Robin and Barney? Will Barney finally admit to his feelings? Probably. But what will Robin do? And is it me, or is this more a Friends-situation than a HIMYM-situation? I LOVE Barney, I love that he tried to pick up a lesbian! I just sincerely hope they are not going to turn Barney&Robin into Ross&Rachel. Not sure Barney will be funny in a relationship.
I have the feeling, and I think there’s a lot of HIMYM-fans out there who share this sentiment, that the writing’s a bit off this season. Really hope it picks up and ditching Stella, and maybe bringing back Victoria? would be great.
