House: The Social Contract recap & promo

House & Wilson

House & Wilson

A middle aged bookeditor all of a sudden can´t stop saying exactly what´s on his mind, with devastating consequences for his job and his marriage! Meanwhile House is trying to figure out why Wilson has all of sudden started spending a lot of time with Taub.

Where would we be without the social contract? It was an intriguing ep, because of course we all mince our words, weigh what we´re going to say, keep our deepest, darkest thoughts to ourselves. If we think our loved ones are stupid or fat, if we´d like to sleep with with hot people. This guy spent his entire life not saying the things he thinks, but I don´t think he´s that much worse than the rest of us. Though of course, not voting is not on!  I don´t think this guy´s marriage had a snowball´s chance in hell and I doubt his daughter will ever forgive him for calling her below average.

So, Wilson has a brother who´s a bum. And Wilson blames himself for it, because thirty years ago he hung up on him. Wonder how that will pan out.

Brothers and Sisters: Lost and Found

The Brothers and Sisters Cast

The Brothers and Sisters Cast

As an episode, Lost and found was pretty ok. Kitty talks about her marital problems to Time magazine and later finds out someone (guess who) has killed the story. Nora goes up to Berkely to visit Ryan and answer some of his questions. Rebecca goes to New York to find her real dad, David. Holly gets suspicious of the business deal with the new vineyard.

I like Ryan, especially since he could still turn out evil. Nora grovelled a bit too much: it´s hardly her fault her hubby couldn´t stop chasing skirt. Though she might´ve divorced him, but that wouldn´t miraculously have meant that William and Ryan´s mom would have lived happily ever after. Actually, the guy who raised Ryan looked like a decent guy, so he can count himself lucky! And he may get a chunk of the Walker pie.

Kitty should totally dump Robert. He´s no good and he never will be and she will be raising that kid on her own. Maybe they can make a deal, where she holds off on divorcing him til she has legally adopted and he can run for governor? I don´t think they´ll give that baby to a woman going through a divorce. Though Cuddy in House got one, no sweat, and she´s a single mom. Anyway, Holly found out about Tommy´s scam. How stupid is this guy that everyone with half a brain can figure out he´s trying to pull a not-so-fast one? And using the same trick his old dad used? Get some new material man! And how did he get his hands on that pension fund?

Scotty about to die?

Is Scotty about to die?

So, the producers of B&S have stated someone´s going to die tragically in two weeks, in a special two hour episode.

Who´s it gonna be? Let´s see. Tommy´s in enough trouble as it is, but Boring Julia could get an accident? Though nobody would notice, so maybe not.

Kitty and Robert are going to get a juicy divorce, so not them either. Nora seems pretty indestructable.
Rebecca? Not interesting enough. Maybe Sara? Or Holly? Though I´d hate to see her go, but maybe Tommy kills her in a fit of rage? Or Scotty? I don´t know! If I had to make a bet, I´d go for….

Scotty. He hasn´t had much of a story line lately and, frankly, I don´t know where the Kevin&Scotty storyline could go from here. They´re already married, Kitty´s doing the whole adoption thing, as gay issues go there only aids and nowadays, that´s not even that big a deal anymore. In the US you can live to a ripe old age, even with aids. They´ve had Scotty´s conservative parents being difficult, they´ve done Scotty making more money and Kevin buying a compensation-house. So my guess is next ep we will see a loved up Kevin&Scotty. A lot. And then, two weeks from now, tragedy will strike and Scotty will, sadly, kick the bucket. Especially since it was rumored there´d be a shocking death: could be gay bashing? What do you think?

House 100th episode plus Unfaithful preview

Cuddy's bangs

Cuddy

A high flying cancer researcher turned her back on her career to pursue a more fullfilling life than, well, curing kiddie cancer. Instead she became an assistant chef.

When she collapses in the kitchen it makes House’s team take a long hard look at their own personal lives. Also, Thirteen is responding badly to Foreman’s clinical trials, and Cuddy gives House a dose of his own medicine.

What is with Cuddy’s hair? I know as a new mom she probably doesn’t have that much time on her hands to wear tons of make-up and slip into skimpy outfits and… Wait, she still does that! So why not run an occasional comb through that thick beehive? And why o why does she still dress like a college student trying to land a cute guy, rather than a 40 something MD with a career, running a hospital no less, and a child?

Anyway, not a very special episode, though for a moment thought my prayers had been answered and Thirteen would kick the bucket. No such luck, alas. However the level of blood and gore was good and I liked Wilson’s storyline. Poor man, rumor has it Amber will be revisiting Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.

I’m looking forward to next week’s ep, where things come to a head between Foreman and Thirteen and the team has to find a treatment for a priest who sees a bleeding Jesus on his doorstep.

House: Joy to the world (S05E11)

House & Cuddy

House & Cuddy

House strikes a bet to be nice with Wilson and this costs him a lot more effort than he thought. An overweight teenage girl is brought in with all kinds of weird symptoms and the team suspects she’s an alcoholic. Cuddy gets very much involved with the girl.

Must be the Christmas spirit, because as House goes, this was a very happy, cheerful episode. Well, apart from the girl who would die, though even she got her baby back….
There were a lot of funny moments, like the woman with her inhaler and the ‘virgin birth’. And Cuddy finally got herself a baby! Good for her! Maybe that’s why she might be quitting, if I heard the rumor mill correctly and Cameron will be taking her place?  I like Cuddy, I hope stuff works out for her.
The whole Foreman/13 story line: I don’t know. I like Foreman, I don’t think much of 13, I kinda wish she would, well, die.

Well, who knows? Experimental drugs can be a bit of a health hazard, right? And then Foreman can spend the rest of his life being miserable because he killed his True Love… I like it!

House: Cameron and Chase are back!

Cameron & Chase

Cameron & Chase

You gotta love EW\s Ausiello!
He gets the juice. This time there’s a (way too short) interview with House executive producers David Shore and Katie Jacobs. Mostly about how all the fans (well, except my husband) would like to see a lot less of Thirteen and a lot more of Chase and Cameron. And of course whether House and Cuddy will finally get down to business. And by business I of course mean the mattrass mambo.  I’m not sure they should, but  Shore and Jacobs were pretty forthcoming on this subject: yes, they will ‘have relations’ so to speak.
Shore: They’ve got to, right? We’re with you on that.

And on 13 vs Chase & Cameron: When you have 24 episodes a year and this is a fifth year, the fact that they want to see more of anybody is great. There are so many stories we have left yet to tell.

Well, there you have it. Apparently, we’ll be seeing more of C&C. And maybe 13 can simply die? She has that nasty disease, right?

House: dr. Cameron’s Christmas Bonus!

Dec 28, 2008 Author: Liz | Filed under: Celebrities
Dr. Cameron

Dr. Cameron

The past season we’ve hardly had a glimpse of Cameron, Jennifer Morrison, or Chase for that matter. For Cameron fans there’s good news: things are about to get shaken up in the Princeton-Plainsboro hospital!

According to internet rumours, Cam is about to get a Big Christmas Bonus: She’s getting Cuddy’s job! Where does that leave Cuddy? I guess she either runs for president or simply decides she’s fed up with House’s crap and goes of into the wild.

Now I like Cuddy and her all-reveiling outfits, I actually like her a lot more than dowdy Cameron (well, except in the pic above;), but she’s waaaaay too soft on House! And I don’t get why. Anyway, Cameron’s been known to have a giant soft spot for House as well (what is with these women? Are there no eligible men out there? Chase is kinda hunky, so is Foreman and even Wilson is cute-ish, so why don’t they pick some other guy to fawn over?

Earlier this year House-producer said in an interview that he appreciated that House fans wat more Cam&Chace, but: “As someone running a television show, you have to be very careful – people think they want something and they do want something, but it’s not what they need, shall we say, and it’s not what the show needs,” Shore said in the interview. “It’s great that they like those characters. … You want people to want more of things. You have to be careful on what you deliver.”

I guess he’s right. Often when audiences get what they want, such as people on shows hooking up, they loose interest immediately afterwards, so maybe it’s good to keep mixing it up. And maybe Jennifer and Jesse should move on to other shows? I think Jennifer would be a great DA on Law&Order.
