The latest on the hottest shows on tv!
Drew Barrymore sure gets around in tvland! After a very public snogging session with Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick, the blonde actress seems to have her heart set on another sitcom star: HIMYM’s Jason Segel aka Marshall Erikson.
Segel, also known for his role as an actor and a writer on the hit pic Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and Barrymore were spotted canoodling at Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont. Not a very low key place, so they’re probably not keeping it a secret! They’d make a cute couple. Apparently, they’ve even karaoked in front of an audience together!
You think Lily’s ok with this?

Ted is still hurting from the break up with Stella, but cheers up when he gets to design a building for Barney’s company, Goliath Bank. Robin is feeling a bit lonely and depressed because she’s unemployed and single and goes looking for some new friends. She hooks up with a bunch of wooo-girls.
Did Barney sell Ted out? Or was that design from Sven just waaaaaay more cool? Boring, grey building or megacool building shaped like a monster spitting fire? Of COURSE Barney had to pick that one! I’d have picked that one! All New York needs is yet another boring skyscraper. Oh well, good for Ted. I really want to go to that place they were at, Giddy-Up, looked like sooo much fun! And I want to work at Barney’s office! Have ‘conference calls’, drink beer, throw cans at pigeons: sounds, well, awesome!
Barneyism: “Who would wooo, Lily, who would wooo?”
More HIMYM!
Not a father’s day

Lily and Marshall decide to have a baby, but Lily gets cold feet and calls on Robin and Ted to help her decide.
I like the way they portrayed the way people decide to have kids: Lily and Marshall are deep in debt, live in a crappy apartment, and work all hours of the day. Yet looking at a baby’s sock decides them on having a child. Yep. I’ve seen that happen. Soooo, Robin moves in with Ted, ey?
Well, she’s still aunt Robin, so I guess that’s not gonna happen (I’m still rooting for Barney&Robin, when’s that gonna happen?!) And I’m very glad Lily and Marshall aren’t having a baby. Come on, people having babies are boring!
Also nice to see Kevin’s dad (The Wonderyears!) again, though he didn’t get to do much.
Funny quotes:
Lily: “Baby me, Marshall, I’m ready!”
Robin to Ted “Every time you hear the word ‘kid’ you get two little lactation stains on your shirt.” (ouch!)
Barney:
“The cheerleader effect is when a group of women seems hot, but only as a group. It’s like with cheerleaders. They seem hot, but take each one individually: sled dogs. And that, my friends, is the cheerleader effect, also known as the brides maids paradox, and, for a brief period in the nineties, the Spice girls syndrome. Scary Spice indeed.”

What a GREAT episode!
I missed HIMYM, the week’s just not the same without it.
Anyway, Ted has to deal with Stella dumping him at the altar, the gang tries to cheer him up, but he acts like there’s nothing wrong. Of course there is, and they all try and help him through it.
Of course I wanted Stella to be extremely unhappy at having made the wrong choice, but in the end I kinda liked the fact stuff worked out for her. And that she’s still out of the series, because she was as dull as two sticks. And Ted’s back, ready to play the field! Robin’s also back, great story line about her dad btw, so will they we snuggling up together once more? I hope not, I’m rooting for Barney and Robin as a couple (Rorney? Babrin?) but if that’s meant to be than they sure are taking things slow… So who’ll be Ted’s dream girl? And what will happen now that Allyson Hannigan is pregnant? Will Marshall be a daddy?
Here’s the link for all you sidereelers/Megavideo fans!

Rumors had been flying for a bit but now it’s official: Alysson Hannigan and hubby Alexis Denisof are expecting their first baby together. The couple, who met on th set of good ol’ Buffy the Vampire Slayer, got hitched in 2003 and are ‘thrilled’ (can’t anyone ever think of another word? Scared witless for instance? I know, that’s two words…)
Great for them, but how will it affect the storyline? Are Marshall and Lily about to become proud parents? Won’t that be boring? Remember Ross and Rachel? Though we didn’t see that much of that baby.
Or will Lily wear big blousy things, hide her belly behind big objects and simply gain quite a bit of weight on the show? It’s all been done before…..
HIMYM co-creator Carter Bays told TVGuide.com, “We are thrilled for Alyson and Alexis, and we know that they are going to be amazing parents. It’s too early to say how this will impact the show going forward, although we may have to push the ‘Lily wins a gold medal in gymnastics’ storyline to next season.”

Great episode, and gladly the End of Boring Stella!
However, did anyone else recognize almost the entire plot of 27 Dresses?
No matter, still a great episode, and a lot funnier than 27 Dresses. Stella’s sister’s wedding gets cancelled at the last minute and Stella & Ted jump in to take the entire thing on. Trouble starts when both their exes show up for the wedding. Classic Barney quotes galore, and wow, what a great ending! I’ll say one thing for Stella/Sarah Chalke: she looked damn hot in that dress!

Ok, so I never liked James Van Der Beek much in Dawson’s Creek, I prefer my men with a bit of an edge and not quite so much teenage Angst. I really like him as a guest star though: he was hilarious as Robin’s balding, fat, Canadian loser ex in HIMYM and pretty scary as a serial killer in Criminal Minds, so I think he might be good in OTH.
Ok, for everyone who missed JVDB on HIMYM, here it is:
Also, I think it’s kinda nice. OTH are filming on the old Dawson set and apparently in OTH, James will play a movie buff who might be interested in turning Lucas’ book into a movie. Full circle, or what?
Exec Producer Mark Schwahn told Entertainment Weekly “We’re about to [complete] 128 episodes, which is what Dawson’s did,” And adds “So I thought it would be cool to get James.”
So do we, so do we!

Japan?!! Did you see the look on poor Barney’s face when Robin said she’d be moving to Japan?????
Just as I was hoping that this might be the end of Boring Stella (Sarah Chalke), because of the whole New Jersey-thing, by the way, what is up with that? Why was there absolutely no discussion possible? Why does Stella get to storm off and Ted just has to take it? I really don’t like her, hope she goes away. I will say it again: I like Sarah Chalke in Scrubs, but in HIMYM she’s just a dud. She never has any funny lines and she’s way too grown up for the others, probably because of the whole doctor and child-thing.
Anyway, what will happen with Robin and Barney? Will Barney finally admit to his feelings? Probably. But what will Robin do? And is it me, or is this more a Friends-situation than a HIMYM-situation? I LOVE Barney, I love that he tried to pick up a lesbian! I just sincerely hope they are not going to turn Barney&Robin into Ross&Rachel. Not sure Barney will be funny in a relationship.
I have the feeling, and I think there’s a lot of HIMYM-fans out there who share this sentiment, that the writing’s a bit off this season. Really hope it picks up and ditching Stella, and maybe bringing back Victoria? would be great.

It’s not often that I am actually waiting for a series to start again. The third season of 24, yes. The season premiere of Dynasty after they ALL got shot during the wedding in Moldavia: sure. And back when North an South was first on tv I literally couldn’t sleep the night before it was on again (I had it bad for Patrick Swayze)(and I have been mocked for it ever since. My best friend even managed to work it into his wedding service!)The new HIMYM-series was not the stuff of North and SOuth, I slept fine, thank you, but yeah, I was kinda curious to see how Barney woes Robin. They’d make such a great couple!
Also I think HIMYM is one of the funniest things on tv right now. I am so glad they just sit around and drink a lot and not just coffee!
That’s one of the things that always bummed me out about Friends: the endless coffee.
HIMYM is sharp, funny and to coin a phrase: awesome. It makes me want to call my friends and go out. So I guess it’s a bit of a surrogate for actually going out with my friends since I am 2000 km away from them. Still: great show!
Not a big Ted-and-Stella fan I must admit. And if she’s the kids’ mother wouldn’t her name ring a bell?
And they’d have a stepsister, who’d be excluded from this family-bonding thing. So no, I do not think Stella is the mom. I don’t like her much, I prefer her in Scrubs, maybe it’s the hair, but something’s off with hr face in this haircut. Anyway I liked the cupcake girl who went to Germany, can we have her back?
